I was dying. Choking on my own blood. I plead God for mercy but he did not answer. This battleground was to be my grave.

These illustrations were created for the Vampire: The Masquerade "Embrace" Zine organized by luoniiel on Tumblr. This Zine explores the moment at which a human is turned into a vampire.

He found me. A fearsome corpse-lord. He gave me a new life, new purpose as a faithful of Telyavel, Protector of the Death.

It's the end of the 15th century. Somewhere in the Baltics, a battle concludes. The cacophony of the dying lingers on the field. Boots squelch through mud. Blades pierce flesh. The voices thin.

A dark commander scours the battlefield atop his horse. A soldier catches his eye, still breathing, clinging on to life. The human is found worthy and the commander feeds him his blood. A new vampire is born.
